RSPCA Stafford Wolverhampton and District Branch are hoping that in the very near future they will be able to offer dogs in need some rescue help.

The Branch has been running for over 6 years, but has not been in a position to take in dogs, and has concentrated their efforts on helping cats.

However, 2012 has seen the launch of the Kennel Crusade, and the Branch is hoping to raise enough funding to provide two kennels for dogs in need in the area.

Buster a 9yr old English Bull cross and Madge a 9yr old Staffordshire Bullterrier, both found themselves abandoned and in need. They are typical of the many dogs that end up in need of rescue help.

Buster and Madge undertake intensive training!

The sponsored walk will take place
Friday 24th – Monday 27th February 2012.

Fundraising Volunteer Kate Lee says; “Buster and Madge were lucky enough to be taken into other rescues, Buster was in the care of another RSPCA branch. They have since found a new home together with one of the volunteers at the Stafford Wolverhampton Branch.  Now, in order to try and help dogs in our own area, the pair will be walking ‘The Way for the Millennium’, with their owner– a 40 mile route from Outwoods, Shropshire to Burton upon Trent - over a period of four days,  and would really like people to sponsor them to help raise funds for the Kennel Crusade".

It costs £8 a night for one kennel - £5840 for two kennels for a year, plus neutering, vaccination and microchip costs for each dog. The Branch has set a target to raise a minimum of £8000 this year.

The Branch receives no goverment funding so any money has to be raised by the people of Stafford and Wolverhampton.

The Branch would also be delighted to hear from any individuals or companies who, would like to sponsor a kennel, or can help with fundraising in any form, from donating gifts for raffle prizes to helping at events.

If you would like to help in any way with raising funds for the Kennel Crusade Appeal please either email rspcasw@aol.com
or ring Kate on 07941 653924.

The Branch would also like to hear from anyone interested in fostering dogs
