When Kia, a 5 year old white Husky, first came to us she was very scared and painfully underweight.
She was nursed back to full health by her foster parents and found a new home with a loving family and 10 (!) other dogs last year.
Kia has fitted in perfectly and is really part of the family. Every day she goes out for a run and a play in the fields with her brothers and sister.
She has really come out of...
Article appearing in the January 2014 edition of Wolverhampton Magazine:
I’ve brought tears to Angela Skitt’s eyes. I’ve asked what it means to her when she takes in a kitten or a cat that has been ill treated and gradually, through showing kindness, it starts to trust a human being again.
“Words can’t describe it,” says Angela filling up. “Some of these animals are totally traumatised when...
Hetti was involved in a devastating house fire in which her previous owner very sadly passed away. Hetti herself suffered from smoke inhalation and was lucky to have survived. After a short stay in the vets, thankfully Hetti fully recovered and came into the cattery looking for a new home.
She was very apprehensive at first due to the awful experience she had been through and no doubt missing her...
The agonising cries of the male black and white cat were heard by a Wolverhampton man one evening in June. Spikey, as he has been nicknamed by RSPCA staff, was impaled on a fence with a metal spike going right through his body.
Found at the bottom of a garden at Lyndhurst Road in Wolverhampton, the cat was screaming out in pain.
RSPCA inspector Dawn Burrell received the emergency call and knew within...
Tilly and Tansy arrived recently after being seized from a house where they had been abandoned without food or water after being abused.
Both girls were severely traumatised when they arrived (especially Tilly). Tansy immediately hid under the blanket and refused to come out. Tilly did the same but whereas Tansy was frightened, Tilly was rigid with fright. Their previous owners had pierced their ears and...
Paddy is a special boy who is very close to all of our hearts.
He was taken into a vet in Cannock as a stray because he was suffering from an entropion. This inverted eye lid was causing him great discomfort and was most likely to have been caused by an eye infection that had been left untreated. However Paddy was in good body condition so we appealed for his owner to come forward as we didn’t think he...
When our Inspector found poor Jack O’Neil last September he had taken such a severe beating to his head he was left blind with no co-ordination and was only able to stagger in circles.
He was rushed to the vets who managed to stop the swelling in his brain and after his emergency treatment he was allowed back to our cattery to recuperate.
However Jack O’Neil was a broken little cat and after his...
Hello, my name is Gypsy. I am a timid 8 year old little girl. You might notice that I look a little different from other cats, my foster mum says I have 'special genetics' which make me even more beautiful, I am kitten sized with a huge heart. I am a total fusspot, I love snuggling up next to people on the sofa although I am given a nudge when my snoring becomes too loud. Also I have the most adorable chirpy meow and often have conversations with my foster mum. Ideally I would like a quiet home, with special owners who will help me gain my confidence - I don't cope well with a lot of hustle and bustle. I could cope living with another quiet cat though. In return I can offer unconditional love. Please make a date to visit me soon, for further details phone 07715 540206.
Thanks, Gypsy xxx
Cats Needing A New Home
Special Appeal – Molly
Hi my name is Molly. I'm a sweet and pretty older black female, about 13 years young. I was found having to look after myself when the inspector lady came and picked me up. I am a friendly girl - as soon as you enter my pen at the Cattery I will come out of my bed to see you and will rub against your legs for a fuss. I will even jump on your lap to make sure I get your attention. Due to my age I would prefer a home with no young children as I'm too old for that now. I'd be happy with a new home with either my adopters at home with me or working during the day, so easy really. I would love to have access to a nice big garden to roam around and explore but would need supervision. I have a lot of life left in me yet and am looking for my purrfect home to settle into with a bed to call my own. If you think I may be the new addition for you please call 07715 540206.
Thanks, Molly xx
